Nature's Flu Shot – Pineapple Ginger Juice

 

  • Juice of 3 lemons
  • 1  garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4  teaspoon organic turmeric powder
  • 1/2   teaspoon organic ginger powder
  • 1/8  teaspoon organic cayenne pepper
  • 1 and 1/2 cups organic pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey

Blend in a blender or shake in a jar. Drink 1/2 cup a day during flu season or three times/day if you feel you are starting to get sick.Adapted from Dave Sommers, True Health and Healing

Apple, kale, and beet salad

A refreshing raw salad packed with antioxidants.

INGREDIENTS


4 cup Kale (roughly chopped into bite-sized

pieces)

1 tsp Extra virgin olive oil

1 cup Beets, raw (diced, canned)

1 large Apple (julienned or chopped)

1/4 cup Walnuts (crushed)

1/4 cup Extra virgin olive oil (dressing)

1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar (dressing)

2 tbsp Dijon mustard (dressing)

1 tbsp Honey, raw (dressing)

1 dash Sea Salt (dressing)


INSTRUCTIONS


1.In a large bowl, add the chopped kale and drizzle

with extra virgin olive oil. Massage with hands until

tender.

2.Add the beets, apple, and walnuts to the bowl.

Combine well.

3.To prepare the dressing, combine the extra virgin

olive oil, apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard, raw

honey, and sea salt in a small bowl. Whisk until well

combined.

4.Drizzle the dressing over the salad mixture and toss

until lightly coated.

Apples contain a type of fiber called pectin, which acts as a prebiotic to feed the good bacteria in your gut. The fiber in apples also

contributes to their blood sugar balancing properties.

Beets are hearty root vegetables that are known to help with improving blood circulation and athletic performance.
